For Nadal: Heart of a Champion

I applauded at home (must have looked real funny at home) as Nadal consoled Federer during his speech. It takes a champion to recognise one and Nadal's behavior is befitting of a true champion. The mutual respect shared between two of the greatest tennis players in the modern era is just unbelivable, where both appreciated each other's talents and efforts, knowing that opposite each other is the very person who is able to push him on to greater heights than thought possible. It is also important not to forget his never-say-die attitude which allows him to push his body and spirit to their utmost limits, thus enabling him to savour the sweet taste of victory. However, other than his undeniable talents and strengths, what marks out Nadal as a true champion will also be his human qualities, his grace in acknowledging the strength of his opposition, his understanding of a loss and his humble attitude. A true and worthy champion, Rafael Nadal.
