Jycelyn's Birthday 2015 @ Shinji By Kanesaka, St Regis

Early celebration with bestie Jycelyn before she flew off for her Aussie trip with her boyfriend (and having loads of fun as i'm typing this XD). As usual, only the best for my dear princess so after a night's discussion and reviews, this was where we settled for.

Shinji By Kanesaka at St Regis (which we almost covered after Brasserie Les Saveurs and Yan Ting, leaving only Labrezza the Italian restaurant)

Simple and elegant Japanese Style

First time I was facing a chef preparing right in front of me. Our chef was a junior but really serious and a little shy :p

Finally get to eat! The arrangement was really a piece of art. Guess this was what people call a culinary and visual feast ^_^

Sashimi!!!!! And really, really fresh i must say :)

We were tying to take pictures of the sea urchin and the chef promptly took out 2 big boxes for us to take! Haha really understanding hehe.

My new favourite! First time trying sea urchin and it was really nice! The prawn was great as well.

Sushi! There were 8 of them (i think) and each was freshly made right in front of us by the chef. Interestingly, the rice was actually warm (of course give that it was freshly made, silly me) and different from all the sushi i had before.

My dessert! Cherries were sweet and the black sesame ice cream was really good! (It must be since Jycelyn said so)

See the difference? Birthday Girl's dessert XD

A picture for remembrance :)

Last but not least, the St Regis Complimentary Parking Coupon! Haha, overall it was a nice experience being served almost exclusively (we came early and had the whole restaurant by ourselves for about 15 minutes though even when full, there were only about 20 customers attended by 3 chefs). Our chef, though lacking in skills given he was probably a junior (yet to master handroll as noted by Jycelyn), was really serious in his craft and hearing him explain each dish with his English (heavy Japanese accent) was a new and curious experience as well. First time trying out such a dining style and i must say that the money was really worth it given the attention to details and the fresh ingredients in general. Then again, maybe it was about who i'm dining with ^_*
